Teaching Vacancies
It's never too early to start thinking about your first teaching job.
Thinking early about the type of school you want to work in and your preferred location - relevant to your chosen phase/subject course - puts you in a good position to act on any opportunities that become available.
Teaching opportunities suitable for early career teachers can be advertised throughout the year so being prepared to apply for any vacancies that match your preferred schools and locations is extremely beneficial.
Our key tips for getting 'job' ready:
- Research your preferred school types in your preferred location(s).
- Sign up to 'job alerts' with websites such as GOV.UK Teaching Vacancies or TES to receive the latest job vacancies.
- Research how to prepare / write a strong application and personal statement - then draft these.
- Research what is involved in a school interview - the interview format, the practical parts such as lesson planning and delivery, and common interview questions.
- Prepare and practice your interview response - the answers you may give, your lesson plan and delivery, and how you wish to present yourself.
- Request a school visit during the school day so you can get a feel for the school, see some lessons in action and meet some potential colleagues.
What we offer:
- Our dedicated ITT Lead, Katy Isles, can help you with your application and provide further guidance.
- Your Link Tutor can support and arrange a school visit.
- Full application workshops and mock interviews to support the process,
