ITT recruitment for 2025-26 training opened on 8th October, and we have already started to receive applications for both primary and secondary teaching. Details of our Train to Teach offer can be found on our website here.

Do you know anyone interested in training to teach? We will be at Leeds Direct Arena for the Get into Teaching event on Wednesday 6 November 5.00-8.00pm.

ECF

Ii has been a very busy half-term for ECF training and events. 30 conferences with 643 participants! Thank you to all our fantastic facilitators. Attendance has been very high with 96% of ECTs attending a conference.

Feedback shows the quality of these conferences, scored 4.62 out of 5, and we are very proud to share some of the feedback from the participants below:-

"Very informative and an opportunity to reflect"

"The most beneficial conference I have been to"

"Thank you to the hosts for such a personable conference that shared their own experiences and made it engaging."

Our next Induction Tutor's Breakfast Briefing will be held on Thursday 7 November 2024 at 7.45am.

Appropriate Body

We're delighted to be working as the Appropriate Body for our region and beyond, supporting close to 500 ECTs in 175 schools. It's certainly going to be a busy year!

We have already visited 20 schools this half term - it's been wonderful to see how well our ECTs and new induction tutors have settled into their roles.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a high quality service, we continue to meet with other ABs across the country to moderate the standard of reports and provide feedback to the DfE to inform future policy direction. We will keep you updated with any national changes and developments going forward.

After half term, we will be providing training for new tutors on writing progress reviews and assessments. Further details will be shared, along with other key updates, in the Breakfast Briefing.

NPQs

It has been an incredibly busy start to this term.  Both our Spring 2023 leadership NPQ participants and October 2023 specialist NPQ participants sat their assessments, and we have commenced the delivery of our October 2024 cohorts.

The NPQ programmes are as popular as ever, and we received over 120 applications for the new NPQSENCO programme alone!  We are pleased to report that we are delivering all NPQ programmes and many of our delegates were successful in securing a funded place. Our Autumn 2024 NPQ cohorts are now in full swing!

Later this term, our Spring 2023 leadership NPQ participants will receive their assessment results – we wish them the best of luck.

Looking further ahead, our next NPQ cohorts will commence in Spring 2025.  We do not yet know what the DfE’s funding criteria will be, but if you or your staff would like more information or wish to register interest in any of our NPQ programmes, please visit our website .

EEF and Bradford Research School

Partnership Foundations Survey for Kirklees School Leaders.

Learning and Early Support (on behalf of Kirklees Council) is working in partnership with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and Bradford Research School to explore the evidence around the attainment of socio-economically disadvantaged pupils. The aim of the partnership is to explore and identify a shared challenge and co-develop evidence-based solutions to address it. As part of this evidence exploration we would like to hear the perspectives of Kirklees school leaders.

We would really appreciate it if you could find a few minutes to complete the survey using this link.
