ITT

ITT recruitment for 2025-26 is open and going well for the next cohort. Details of our Train to Teach offer can be found on our website here.

Do you know anyone interested in training to teach? We are hosting a recruitment event at Shelley College on March 4th. Come along to find out more. We will also be at Get into Teaching Events in Sheffield on March 26th and Manchester on March 29th. See our website for more details.

ECF

Another busy start to the year, with 201 new ECTs and over 120 new mentors. Attendance at ECF training events has been above 95%, so a big thank you to everyone involved in making these events happen – from facilitation to organising cover.

From September 2025, there will be some changes to the programme as the ITTECF is introduced. We are working closely with our lead provider, Ambition Institute, and will share any key information with you in the new year.

Our next Induction Tutor's Breakfast Briefing will be held on Thursday 9 January 2025 at 7.45am.

The link to join the briefing can be found on our website.

Appropriate Body

We have had an exciting term visiting ECTs and induction tutors in over 40 schools. It has been wonderful to see ECTs flourishing and being well supported.

We are currently reading and reviewing the progress reviews and assessments that have been submitted. The quality of them is very high indeed, so thank you for all your hard work in collating these key documents.

NPQs

Our Spring 2025 NPQ cohorts will commence next April 2025, later than the usual February start date.

Funding arrangements will follow the same format as for the Autumn 2024 cohort, targeting teachers and leaders who work in the most challenging schools and educational settings, serving more disadvantaged communities.  A number of funded places to cover the full NPQ cost will be available to some teachers and leaders from:

  • The 50% of schools with the highest proportion of students who attract pupil premium funding.
  • 16 to 19 educational settings are identified as having a high disadvantage.
  • Highly disadvantaged early years settings for the NPQEYL.

There will also be a number of funded places available to some teachers and leaders from publicly funded schools and 16-19 educational organisations for NPQLPM, NPQSENCO and NPQH.

The application window will open in January 2025.  In the meantime, if you have members of staff interested in undertaking an NPQ commencing April 2025, please ask them to complete the Expression of Interest form by scanning this QR code, and we will contact them with details on how to submit their application in January.
