ITT

We are proud to be working alongside the University of Huddersfield to deliver the Teacher Degree Apprenticeship in Maths. This is a new employment-based and fully funded route to becoming a qualified maths teacher. ECF

We have hosted 91 ECF events already this year and attendance has been outstanding – 100% of Year 1 ECTs attended Conference 2! Thank you everyone for your support with this; we know it takes a lot of organisation from many people in school. Steplab engagement has also increased significantly this year, particularly for Year 1 ECTs and mentors. We know that more early career teachers are now getting the best experience in ‘learning that’ and ‘learning how to’. 

Our next Induction Tutors’ Breakfast Briefing will be held on Thursday 24th April 2025 at 7.45am. NPQ's

We are looking forward to welcoming all our new NPQ Spring 2025 participants at their launch conferences this month.

Looking ahead, the DfE hasn’t yet confirmed funding arrangements for NPQ cohorts commencing in the next academic year, 2025/26, but as soon as these are available, we will update our website.  In the meantime, if you have members of staff interested in undertaking one of our specialist or leadership NPQs, please ask them to complete the Expression of Interest form on our website, Calderdale and Kirklees Teaching School Hub - National Professional Qualifications.

Appropriate Body

It has been our pleasure to conduct around 100 school visits over the last two terms. We hope ECTs and induction tutors have found these helpful. Our Quality Assurance visits show that induction across the region is both rigorous, personalised and supportive. Further visits, including Coaching for Mentors, will take place during the summer term.   

The deadline for end of year reports will be Friday 4th July. Please add this to your diary and factor in time for sign off by all parties.
